Summer Associate - Senior Housing Investments Analyst


Reporting directly to the Senior Vice President – Senior Housing, key characteristics of the Summer Associate includes strong analytical and quantitative capabilities; accuracy, thoroughness and attention to detail; clear oral and written communication; ability to work both independently and as a team member; and a high degree of dedication.  Principal responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Learn to develop and work with existing financial models for proposed investments; Manipulate models to value acquisitions and perform sensitivity and scenario analysis.
  • Participate and assist in coordination of  underwriting all due diligence materials, including market leasing assumptions, rent and sales comparables, revenue and expense analysis, operations, 3rd party reports and general corporate financial analysis (P&L, Balance Sheet, forecasting, industry/peer set analysis); Assist in the preparation of exhibits/document as needed.
  • Calculate IRR, NPV, DCF valuation; Perform market-to-market and earnings accretion/dilution calculations; Model JV waterfall structures.
  • Assist in drafting deal discussion, investment committee and board of director presentations.
  • Assist in the desktop underwriting of new transactions and engage internal resources to vet assumptions; Assist in the preparation of bid recommendations and Letters of Intent.
  • Assist in closing process (pro-rations, settlement statements)


  • Bachelors or Masters candidates considered.
  • Two (2) years of finance or business service experience with work in investment banking, management consulting or real estate investment a plus.
  • Highly detail oriented and exceptional organizational skills.
  • Excellent judgment, the ability to work independently and as a team player, and the ability to function in a highly confidential environment.
  • Ability to work under pressure and multi-task in a fast paced environment.
  • Effectively communicate and present information to management.
  • Advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word.
