Associate - Cash Management

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

Under the direction of the Director – Accounting, Cash Management & AP, the Associate – Cash Management will be responsible for the processing of daily wire and account transfers, recording of all cash activity in the general ledger, reconciliation of bank accounts and assistance with liquidity forecasting. Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures
  • Invoice processing / data entry
  • Recording of corporate cash receipts and disbursements in the general ledger
  • Preparation of account reconciliations for various balance sheet accounts
  • Maintain daily cash and process wires and account transfers as requested
  • Cross train with A/P to assist and support in the daily AP functions
  • Assist Manager – Accounts Payable with various tasks (ie: review of vendor setup forms submitted by third party property managers; review of employee expense reports)
  • Assist with identifying daily cash needs and liquidity forecasting

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor's degree with Accounting emphasis preferred; candidates nearing completion of their degree will also be considered
  • Knowledge of general financial accounting and ability to learn general ledger software
  • Common sense, problem-solver, strong work ethic, ability to work both independently and with supervision
  • Deadline and project-oriented
  • Strong communication and people skills (ability to interact well with senior management)
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Ability to successfully manage multiple tasks
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Excel
  • Overtime required as needed (ie: during peak period-end reporting)
  • Experience with MRI or similar software accounting package a plus
  • Real estate industry experience, especially one in which there is interaction with third party property management companies a plus
  • Familiarity with the concept of the usage of inter-company accounts also a plus
