Senior Associate - Corporate Accounting, Partnership Group

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Perform accounting functions for joint ventures (consolidated and unconsolidated), consolidation, transactions, financial reporting, and shareholders’ equity
  • Prepare monthly and quarterly joint venture distributions
  • Track equity accounts for joint ventures (consolidated and unconsolidated)
  • Team with other departments to prepare transactional journal entries (i.e. acquisitions, dispositions, joint ventures contributions/dispositions, etc.)
  • Assist in the preparation of shareholders’ equity, including having a basic understanding of stock compensation
  • Team with corporate accounting to prepare consolidating journal entries on a monthly and quarterly basis (i.e. eliminations and intercompany)
  • Prepare monthly equity method investment and noncontrolling interest reconciliations
  • Assist in internal and external audit requests related to corporate, including review of annual audit report
  • Work with venture partners to prepare monthly and quarterly reporting packages, along with answering requests and queries from venture partners
  • Prepare various 10Q/K disclosures and other quarterly reporting schedules
  • Prepare joint venture, UK subsidiaries, and insurance captive financial statements and work with external auditors on coordination or the annual audits
  • Partner with other departments in forecasting and budgeting NOI and capital
  • Complete special projects assigned by the leadership team

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelors degree from an accredited university, majoring in Accounting
  • Minimum 2 years of Public Accounting experience with a Big 4 Firm 
  • CPA or currently working towards CPA
  • Ability to understand complex corporate structures and consolidation
  • Expert knowledge using spreadsheet programs (including Microsoft Excel)
  • Working knowledge in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
  • MRI experience a plus/preferred
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to make business recommendations
  • Teamwork capabilities
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities
