Senior Associate/ Manager - Research and Corporate Strategy

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

Reporting to the Senior Director – Corporate Strategy and Research, the Senior Associate – Research and Corporate Strategy will assist in discovering, compiling, and analyzing key information to support HCP’s investment strategies across the organization. Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Develop and maintain research analytics tools to identify market trends in supply and demand across each of our core sectors to support short and long term investment strategies
  • Assist with monitoring peers’ transaction activity and strategic decisions
  • Monitor key peer and operator earnings calls and compile and analyze key points
  • Create presentation materials to be used for investor meetings, quarterly earnings calls, Board of Directors meetings, and internal meetings
  • Provide key market data to acquisition teams which could impact investment decisions
  • Assist in reviewing Investment Committee pitches and corresponding underwriting models for accuracy and compliance with Company protocols
  • Review and summarize sell-side research reports on an ongoing basis as needed (HCP, Peers, General Industry overviews)
  • Review and assist in summarizing select industry conference calls related to healthcare
  • Liaise internally with all departments across the organization to build strong, collaborative relationships
  • Complete ad hoc analysis and support as needed (e.g., during significant announcements)

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university
  • 3-5 years of experience, preferably in real estate finance or financial/operational analysis in the healthcare sector
  • Highly-driven, resourceful and flexible team player who can execute tasks independently through completion and excels at building trusting relationships with colleagues, clients, and vendors
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills with exceptional attention to detail and quality
  • Solid understanding of key accounting and corporate finance principles
  • Experience developing forecasting and underwriting models using advanced data modelling
  • Aptitude to prioritize and multi-task effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic, and demanding work environment
  • Expert knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Microsoft PowerPoint
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience using Tableau or other business intelligence tools a plus
